STAPEM Group Inaugurates New Vessel “STAPEM Boreale”

Luanda, Angola – May 27, 2024 – The STAPEM Group proudly celebrated the naming ceremony of its newest vessel, the STAPEM Boreale, with a grand event held at the Sonils Base in Luanda Port. This significant occasion marks a new chapter in STAPEM’s operations and highlights its continued commitment to the Angolan market.

Jean-Marc Gerber, General Manager of STAPEM Group, opened the ceremony by highlighting the importance of the STAPEM Boreale for the company’s operations in Angola. He emphasized that the vessel represents a major investment and a strategic vision for future activities in the region. This new addition is designed and built specifically for operations in Angola, reflecting the company’s deep-rooted connection with the country.

“I would like to thank all the Stapem Group women and men whose dedication, commitment, and motivation ensured the timely completion of this project despite the short timeframe,” said Jean-Marc Gerber. This highlights our commitment to excellence and operational efficiency.

Acknowledgements and Traditions
The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from TotalEnergies, ANPG, Sonangol, and the authorities of Sonils. Jean-Marc Gerber emphasized the vessel’s role in expanding STAPEM’s capabilities and its significance for the future: “It is the beginning of a new period for our Group, marked by expansion, innovation, and operational excellence.” Special thanks were also given to Mrs. Ana Miala, who graciously accepted the role of godmother for the vessel.

The event concluded with the traditional breaking of a champagne bottle on the vessel’s hull by the godmother, wishing the STAPEM Boreale a safe journey as it commences operations. This act of tradition reinforces the vessel’s readiness to serve and the strengthened relationship between STAPEM Group and Angola.
